What is Armored Combat?
Armored Combat is a modern combat sport rooted in medieval martial traditions. Fighters wear real steel armor and use blunted steel weapons while competing under strict rulesets. It combines athleticism, strategy, and controlled intensity, making it one of the most physically demanding and rewarding combat sports in the world.
At Armored Combat Elkton, we focus on skill development, fitness, and community, not just fighting.
Is Armored Combat safe?
Safety is our top priority.
All training and bouts are governed by established safety rules and supervised by experienced, certified coaches and marshals. Fighters wear full protective armor and use approved, blunted weapons designed specifically for armored combat.
Like any contact sport, there is inherent risk, but injuries are minimized through:
Proper instruction and progression
Mandatory protective gear
Controlled sparring environments
Clear rules and enforcement
We emphasize technique, conditioning, and control over reckless force.
Do I need experience to start?
No experience is required.
Beginners are welcome and start with fundamentals, movement, conditioning, and safe weapon handling. We scale training to your fitness level and comfort, whether your goal is competition, fitness, or just trying something completely different.
Do you offer rental equipment?
Yes.
Armored Combat Elkton offers rental armor and training equipment for new participants. This allows you to try armored combat without making a large upfront investment.
Our coaches will ensure proper fit and explain how to safely use all equipment during training.
What should I wear to my first session?
